EST Clean up at Regional Cross Championships

Turning out in good numbers EST managed to secure a couple of important victories at the regional championships held at Foxall.

Firstly after a cracking race, youth rider Josh Hannan fought a hard race to bagged 2nd place only 43 seconds down on Hugo Robinson. Secondly we had a 3rd in the Seniors(Michael Raven), 6th (Shaun Aldous), and 20th (Ben Nicholson). It was a brilliant race Raven and Nathan Miller head to head the whole race, and Shaun always just off the group but gaining all race.

With our overall placings, we managed to grab the overall team win, and thanks to Mikes hard work over the past few months the best eastern rider 2009/10. Well done everyone and thanks especially to Ben Nicholsons whose result was crucial for the team win.

Mud and Mechs at National Round 4

Well, what a day, one thing I can say is that it was one of the muddiest events I have ever attended. Josh rode his self silly to a finish a very respectable 13th, in the worst mud he has come across and only one bike change.

Shaun finished 33rd after numerous bikes changes and riding a loan bike for his second ride. Both guy did really well to even finish this event as the conditions were awful, well done guys.

Raven swoops in on Nichols at Hempton

Today saw EST's Michael Raven really showing off his full potential by nearly closing down David Nichols at Hempton cross. Coming 2nd by only by only 10 seconds Mike really laid turned the heat up, after a couple of bogey laps Mike ripped his way back up to overtake Nichols on the sixth lap. David however managed to pull out an epic 7th lap, leaving Mike to battle on his wheel to line.

Josh had a tough race with a few mechanical issues but still managed to hold off the chasing group to take 1st place by +21 seconds.

Thomas Stanford still showing solid form placing 13th in the seniors race, secured him the top of the league standings. Hard work to follow but with the results he keeps knocking out a final top spot in the standings is well in sight, well done all, and thank you.

Raven and Hannan duo clean up at a muddy Redgrave

A great set of result today from our two youngest team members, with Michael 'psyclo-cross' Raven winning the seniors race with a comfortable 1.38 lead over elite vet Matt Seaton. Closely followed by Tom Stanford in 7th at +2.29, and EST's Ben Nicholson a comfortable 20th at +5.27.

Josh Hannan did his best not to show off too much and rode home for a very comfortable victory in the youth race, he could of at least looked like he was trying!

National Cross Round 3

National Cross Round 3, Chantry Park Ipswich.

After a soggy week the rain finally subsided enough to give us some pretty good conditions at round 3, unlike last year. Extreme Sports Therepy made there debut youth cross apperance with Josh Hannan riding to a respectable 11th position, fighting to the line with Joe Kirkham, to finish with exactly the same time. Shaun Aldous rode hard to put himself in 21st, his best result this year. Well done lads next up the inter-area championships.

National Cyclo-Cross Round 2 Derby

Round 2 this year saw an influx of Belgian and German riders, that really shook things up in the top ten and put the pressure on the rest of the field. Conditions were pretty soft making for a hard effort, so well done to Shaun, who place 30th ahead of closest Elite local rider Nathan Miller. Shaun is now standing 34th overall with plenty of races left to build on his position.
